Number of Positions : 1Salary: $85,000-$90,000, commensurate with experienceLocation: Saratoga Springs, NYWork Hours: M-F; 8:00-4:00This position provides leadership and coordination to support the various network and technology systems needed for school districts and/or BOCES to provide instruction for students. These technology systems may include but are not limited to district computer networks (including switches, routers, servers, firewalls and all networked devices), VOIP service management, physical access control systems and video security systems. This role may also provide technical management and oversight of the BOCES and/or its component school districts through a technology-based infrastructure consisting of local area as well as interconnected telecommunication networks. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Technology and Instructional Support Services with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel. Does related work as required.Provides coordination of the various educational technology services for the BOCES and/or its component school districts; Provides the technical leadership and oversight for the BOCES and/or its component school districts on a wide variety of computer networking solutions and decision making; Provides the technical leadership that centralizes technology management for instructional planning for the BOCES and/or its component school districts; Provides leadership to manage aspects of the BOCES technology infrastructure (e.g., LAN, WAN, DAN, VOIP, Security Systems, etc.); Works closely with the leadership teams of the BOCES and/or its component school districts to plan, implement and operate a fully networked environment; Efficiently designs and implements high quality technical support protocols to support the various BOCES technology services offered to the BOCES and/or its component school districts; Plans and/or participates in regional Technical Advisory Group meetings to make recommendations for best practices in technology implementation; Represents WSWHE BOCES as learning technologies technical leader with district, BOCES, NERIC, and Statewide Advisory Councils and Committees; Performs duties relative to the supervision of the technical and network support staff of the BOCES: Performs staff assignments and/or schedule support as required to meet commitment levels; Provides for training and/or peering of support staff when appropriate; Participates in staff evaluations and remediation when necessary; Researches, evaluates, and develops solutions to current and future technology needs of schools (cybersecurity, physical security, critical system upgrades, etc.); Manages/Recommends/Evaluates new technologies, hardware and software, as required to fulfill the needs of the BOCES and its component school districts; Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new trends and technology for computer network hardware and software and cybersecurity; Attends professional training seminars/conferences as directed.Minimum RequirementsPossession of a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, computer information services or related field and five (5) years of professional experience managing Information Technologies at a BOCES and/or school district level or similar enterprise-level IT experience; ORPossession of an associate's degree in computer science, information technology, computer information services or related field and seven (7) years of professional experience managing Information Technologies at a BOCES and/or school district level or similar enterprise-level IT experience; OR Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and nine (9) years of professional experience managing Information Technologies at a BOCES and/or school district level or similar enterprise-level IT experience.
