The classroom teacher shall be directly responsible to the Building Principal or other designated supervisor for the purpose of carrying out assigned portions of the educational program.Typical Work Activities:Plan appropriately for class presentation.Adapt methods and materials to meet students' individual needs and abilities.Orient students in regard to subject content, goals and objectives and teach them in a consistent manner.Present recommended course content in assigned classes.Control and supervise classes in a manner that will be conducive to learning.Evaluate and report on student progress at designated intervals according to established procedures.Maintain student attendance records in the prescribed manner.Be familiar with and operate under school policies, procedures and regulations.Supervise the care and use of classroom equipment and supplies and maintain proper inventory procedures.Maintain supervision necessary for general student safety and control.Participate in the development of curriculum and programs.Cooperate with professional and non-professional staff of this school district and other school districts in collaborative activities.Serve as case manager for assigned students.And other such duties as may be assigned.Minimum Qualifications:NYS TESOL CertificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience with K-12 learners, Part 154 regulations, modifying instruction, strong communication with families and district teams, ability to organize effectively, some travel.
