The White Plains City School District is seeking a Director of Mathematics, Science, Engineering and Career and Technical Education 7-12. The goal of this administrative position is to foster optimum academic success and personal development for all students by nurturing and implementing innovative, engaging and rigorous learning opportunities within respective departments. Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, the Director will coordinate the operation and implementation of the Mathematics, Science, Engineering, and CTE programs and material adoptions; perform administrative and supervisory duties with staff related to curricular programs; assist in the implementation of instructional programs of the District; guide pedagogical support to teachers; and perform other related work, as required. Qualifications for this position include: New York State certification as SDA or SDL and certification in Mathematics 7-12 and/or Science 7-12Have at least three years of successful experience as an administratorBuilding leadership experience at the high school level preferredAt least five years of classroom teaching experience at the secondary levelStrong vision of exemplary secondary educationA rich, substantive, research-based knowledge both of academic subject matter, standards, and of pedagogyDuties and Responsibilities include:Supervising, coordinating, and assisting in the development, implementation, articulation, and pedagogical support for the curriculum in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and CTE 7-12Maintaining current knowledge of instructional assessments and testing practices that have proven effectiveness for student masteryCoordinating, or providing training on instructional technology and assist in the implementation and integration of technology into classroom instructionAssisting in the recruitment and hiring of Science, Mathematics, Engineering and CTE teachersParticipating in various state, county, district, site, and community level activities and events in both active and passive capacitiesWorking with other Directors and Curriculum Coordinators to ensure the integration of the NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards K-12Support the District's initiatives to improve student graduation rates and integrate science, technology, engineering, and math in grades 7-12 Salary placement as per the White Plains Administrators and Supervisors Association with full benefits.
