The West Islip UFSD has an anticipated opening for a Technology Teacher. Experience teaching the following courses: Introduction to Trades, Introduction to Technology and Engineering The ideal candidate should possess a practical understanding of: Digital Photograph and Videography Woodworking Fundamentals Basic Construction Principles Electrical Basics (Low Voltage) Comprehensive knowledge of a wide array of hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, levels, saws, chisels) and common power tools (drills, sanders, jigsaws, circular saws) used in construction applications. General, Machine-Specific, and Tool-Specific Safety Procedures (for All Courses) Safety is paramount in any technology and trades classroom General shop safety Machine-specific safety for the safe operation, common hazards, and emergency procedures for each machine used in the classroom Hand Tool Safety Experience with 3D Printing and Coding Software (for Introduction to Technology and Engineering) 3D Printer Operation: Experience with common desktop 3D printer models Basic 3D Modeling Software CERTIFICATION: Appropriate Career & Technology Education (multiple certifications preferred) C andidates should submit a cover letter and resume through OLAS to the attention of James Cameron, Assistant Superintendent for HR, no later than March 20, 2026 .
