A.) or equivalent from a regionally accredited two-year college or nursing school . NYS License as a Registered Professional NurseComputer: Word Processing; emailPreferred:Four year nursing degree preferred. Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferredEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. May instruct classes in subjects such as childcare and first aid and implements nursing policies to meet emergencies.Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of special education school children.Administers first aid, and maintains health records of students.Counsels students in good health habits.Assists Lead nurse in ordering first aid equipment and supplies and in reviewing nursing policies and procedures Gathers medical information from health professionals treating students.Serves as a medical resource for students, staff and families and compiles cumulative health records on students.
