Wildwood School is considered an Educational Service Agency under the Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program Salary range $56k-81k/ 10 month school year plus the option of working our 6 week summer program for additional payWho We Are: Wildwood School provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible. Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.Who We Are Looking For: A Special Education teacher, who embraces our mission of “strengthening the well-being of people with disabilities and their families through innovative supports.” The Successful candidate will enjoy working in a special education school environment, where passion and creativity rule to provide children with disabilities, like autism, a robust learning experience. Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Contributes to and plans lessons in conjunction with the designated curriculum frameworkWorks as a part of an inter-disciplinary team to meet each learner's individual needsCollaborates with parents, administrators, language therapists, social workers, behavior specialists and others to develop individual educational programs for students.Instructs students in all academic subjects.Trains, supports and supervises teaching assistants within the classroom and community settingConducts Functional Behavior Assessments and develops Behavior Support plans in conjunction with the Behavior Support TeamAnalyzes data and uses it to ensure growth of studentWorks with students to increase motivation, provides consistent reinforcement to learning, continuous assessment of level of functioning, and continuous feedback to student for all learningDirectly supervises up to 5 teaching assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
