Other duties may be assigned. Develop and advocate for strategies to support the social-emotional needs of students across life environments.Support and advocate for families (including referral to outside services) as they partner with school to enhance their children’s education and well-being.Enhance staff’s knowledge of student social-emotional needs, including in the context of their families and communityAssign caseloads and related duties to the social work departmentReview applications and interview candidates for the social work department Train new employees in areas such as agency policy, department procedures, and agency or government regulations.Provide program and clinical supervision and performance evaluation for school social workersOversee the compliance with regulations and policies affecting the social work department, including Medicaid billing requirementsCore Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Familiarity with Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, and Database software.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret IEPs; journals, professional reports, and legal documentsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to write reports & responses to family members; and other written expressions as needed. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to children and adults - 1 to1 and in groups. Additional Requirements:A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
