Who we are looking for:We are looking for compassionate and engaging Music Therapist to help promote independence, self-esteem Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Provides music therapy services to students as per IEP requirements.Develops music therapy programming that supports student growth and development in areas of cognitive, language, social, motor and music skills.Determines needs to be addressed in music therapy based on student assessments and observations.Develops, writes, reviews and updates annual Educational IEP goals and objectives.Provides individual and/or small group music therapy pursuant to goals and objectivesidentified on the IEP.Works as a member of the educational team which includes shared planning and programdevelopment.Facilitates communication with staff and familiesAdditional Requirements:Daily access to a vehicle and ability to drive our students when the program requires it.Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes deescalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
