Requirements Education/Experience:Associate’s Degree from a two-year collegeNew York State Occupation Therapy Assistant LicenseEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists in evaluation of student’s daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.Plans and implements educational, vocational, and recreational programs and activities established by registered Occupational Therapist.Recommends adaptations to tasks performed during program activities as needed.Fabricates splints and other assistant devices.Reports information and observations to supervisor.Carries out general activity program for individuals or groupsOther requirementsMust have daily access to your own vehicle and drive our students when the program requires it.Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes de-escalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
