The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Permanent Substitute Teacher. The successful candidates must possess valid NYS Teaching Certification. This is an everyday, full year position. Additional qualifications/responsibilities are outlined below: Review and implement classroom teachers’ routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives. Record accurate student attendance. Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms. Monitor students’ understanding of subjects and assist in a positive, encouraging manner. Disseminate materials for lesson plans, according to the classroom teacher’s instructions. Supervise students during all classroom activities throughout the day. Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment. Maintain appropriate classroom management. Report student injuries, illness, and behavior concerns to school administration. Perform other duties as directed by the school administration.
