The Valhalla Union Free School District is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist to support teachers and administrators in grades K-12. Qualified candidates will have experience designing and delivering high-quality professional development and coaching sessions that empower educators to use digital technologies meaningfully. The ideal candidate will develop project-based curricula that integrate technology effectively and serve as a critical resource, helping our staff optimize instructional software and equipment to support quality teaching and learning.Core Responsibilities1. Professional Development & CoachingFacilitate engaging workshops and 1-on-1 coaching cycles for K-12 staff on integrating digital tools into daily instruction.Partner with school leadership to identify instructional gaps and propose technology-based solutions.Model "best-practice" lessons in the classroom to demonstrate effective technology integration to teachers.2. Curriculum & Instructional DesignCollaborate with teachers to design Project-Based Learning (PBL) units that utilize technology to solve real-world problems.Evaluate and curate high-quality digital content and apps that align with state standards and district goals.Assist in the development of a K-12 digital citizenship scope and sequence to ensure students use technology safely and ethically.Adapt instructional materials for diverse learners (ELL, IEP, 504) using assistive technology and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.3. Strategic Resource ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for optimizing the use of the district’s Learning Management System (LMS) and educational software suite.Analyze student and teacher usage data from software platforms to measure the "Return on Instruction" and inform future purchasing decisions.RequirementsNYS Certified TeacherHas a minimum of five years (preferred) of successful experience in classroom teaching or instructional coaching.Has previous technology integration experience (preferred)
