Commencing 2023-2024 School YearBrief Description: Provide instrumental band lessons to students K-5 and teach Beginning Band, Elementary Concert Band, and potentially provide support to the middle school band. Teach general music and electives as necessary, and prepare students and ensembles to participate in NYSSMA competitions. Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to learning and musicianship. Schedule, rehearse, and prepare students for performances at a rate of frequency which encourages and demonstrates student progress.Collaborate with classroom teachers and other instructional staff; and communicate regularly and effectively with parents about student progress. Encourage student participation in community musical activities, local and state honor groups as well as individual and chamber music performing opportunities, and keep informed of new materials and methods through reading current professional literature, attending professional meetings, and studying in music education and/or related fields. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.Certification Required: Music Certification (All Grades). Minimum Starting Salary: $52,800 with credit given for prior experience and benefits per the UnionSprings Teachers’ Association Contract.Starting Date: August 30, 2023
