The Union Springs Central School District is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher for an early primary grade Special Class in the 2024-2025 school year.Responsibilities include:Delivery of Specially Designed Instruction as aligned with grade level content;Provide individualized instruction to all students and analyzes all student's progress;Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP;Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEPs;Delivering classroom instructional programs and adjusting based on the needs of the students;Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to instruction;Report to parents and administrators the educational process of all students enrolled. This includes activities such as progress reports, achievement and diagnostic educational evaluations;Participate in meetings and parent conferences to review the programs and progress of students;Working with a team of professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and school counselors to support student learning;Collaborating with regular education teachers to ensure students are included in general education classes to the greatest extent possible. The candidate must be certified in either Birth-Grade 2 or K-12 Special Education. Certification as an elementary teacher is also preferred, but not required.
