TITLE: SPECIAL ED. TEACHER, Foundations Full Time, 10-month position Exceptional Education Department Certified Position Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Location: T-S-T BOCES, Smith School and/or component districts DUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including direct instruction of an elementary school level 8:1:3 class for students with Autism and communication needs. Duties include, but are not limited to the implementation, and modification of Next Generation Learning Standards/Curriculum, maintaining daily behavioral tracking and data based performance measures, records of progress, home/school communications, and consultation with team, etc. Perform other duties as required. *This position will work with students with Autism, whose communication and sensory needs significantly impact their learning. Previous experience working with elementary school students with Autism is preferred. The ability to work well on a diverse multi-disciplinary team is essential. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education, Grades B-2, Grades 1-6 OR Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12. START DATE: September 1, 2026 SALARY: $58,000.00 (2026-2027 base salary) with additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
