Professionals who can take their industry knowledge and assist in preparing students for real world experience under the general supervision of a certified teacher.DUTIES: Working under the general supervision of a certified teacher, teaching assistant expectations are:• Work with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects.• Provide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.• Assist students in the use of available instructional resources and assist in the development of instructional materials as requested by the teacher.• Provide instruction using consultation and teacher developed materials on a limited basis• Utilize their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: foreign languages, arts, crafts, music and similar projects.• Assist in related instructional work and duties as required.*This is a nationally certified automotive program through ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) where students diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on vehicles using computerized diagnosticQUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate Level 1, 2, 3 or Pre-Professional/Professional required.For further information regarding Teaching Assistant Certification Levels visit http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/certificate/ta.html.START DATE: September 1, 2026SALARY: $31,320 (2026-27) full-time base salary for Teaching Assistant Level I, additional $1,000 base salary for Level II, III or Pre-professional/Professional), plus additional salary credit for TA experience, college education, and/or grad credits.
