TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER, TURNING POINT Certified Position Full Time, 10-month (Middle School) position Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Exceptional Education Department Location: BOCES Smith SchoolDUTIES: Responsible for providing grade level NYS Next Generation Standard curricula in congruence with MS/HS Regents level regulations. Provide engaging instruction, assessment, while maintaining student supervision and home/school communication. Serve as collegial team member in a dynamic K-12 educational setting and on a professional team in content area strengths. Provide instruction to grades 7-12 students with disabilities and/or behavior concerns. Provide case management duties, write and implement IEP’s, transition and career plans and FBA/BIP’s that are complete with progress monitoring. Maintain student records in conjunction with regulations. Previous experience with students with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities preferred. Perform other duties as required. *This position requires the ability and desire to work with school age students with learning, emotional and behavioral disabilities in an 8:1:1 BOCES setting. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be New York State Certified Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist OR hold permanent NYS Special Education Cert K-12 AND 7-12 in at least one content area (Social Studies, ELA, Science or Math) OR SOCE in at least one area (Social Studies, ELA, Science or MathSALARY: $50,000.00 (2022-2023 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
