TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Certified PositionBranches Program Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Full Time, 10-month Location: BOCES Smith School Exceptional Education Department DUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development, implementationof Essential Elements Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/schoolcommunication, etc. Ability to differentiate instruction is a necessity as students work towards the Skills andAchievement Commencement Credential. Provide instruction to students with Autism whose communication andsensory needs significantly impact their learning. Previous experience working with students with Autism ispreferred. Ability to work well on a diverse multi-disciplinary team is essential. Maintain student recordsconsistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required. Setting is in an 8:1:1 BOCES program. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities Grades 7-12, or Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12. START DATE: September 1, 2022 SALARY: $50,000.00 (2022-2023 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Master’s Degree and Grad Credits.
