STEAM and Innovation Technology Teacher Certified PositionFull-time, 10-Month School Calendar Affiliation: Teacher’s Association P-Tech Academy Location: TC3 CampusDESCRIPTION: P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) offers an integrated high school and college curriculum emphasizing technology and STEAM through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach. Students gain both academic knowledge and workplace readiness, including soft skills and internship experience. Graduates earn a high school diploma and an accredited associates degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3). TST P-TECH is seeking an innovative and dynamic STEAM & Technology Innovation Teacher to engage students in coding, robotics, and technology. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. It's an approach to education that moves beyond traditional subject silos, encouraging students to see how these disciplines are interconnected and relevant to the world around them. The "arts" component in STEAM encompasses not only visual arts but also music, drama, dance, and language arts. This position is perfect for an educator who thrives on guiding students through hands-on, real-world challenges. Instruction focuses on deep understanding, critical thinking, and meaningful application—not just test prep. As part of our P-Tech Team you will help lead a forward-thinking program built for future-ready learners, use cutting-edge modular courseware aligned with industry expectations, access modern labs, tools, and resources, explore growth in emerging technologies including game development, drones, and robotics, and join a creative, collaborative team culture that values innovation and explorationKey Responsibilities:Teach structured coding courses such as Coding Foundations, Web Development Foundations, and Game Development FoundationsLead robotics and engineering design projects using open-ended creative kitsDesign and implement PBL units that integrate multiple STEAM disciplinesCollaborate with colleagues to embed STEAM concepts across the curriculumStay current with trends and certifications in technology education; engage in ongoing professional developmentMaintain consistent and positive communication with students, families, and school staffQUALIFICATIONS: Must have New York State Teacher Certification in an area specific to STEAM such as Science, Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or Visual Arts or closely related field. Must be a team player and be willing to participate in co-planning, co-teaching situations in an integrated academic environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and data management skills along with strong teaching and computer skills. Must possess bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Technology Education, or related field. Preferred qualifications include: Master’s degree, experience teaching coding or working with middle/high school students in tech-related fields, familiarity with modular programming instruction or willingness to be trained, basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), strong classroom management skills, and passion for preparing students with 21st-century digital and entrepreneurial skillsSTART DATE: September 2, 2025 SALARY: $56,500 (2025-2026 full-time base salary), plus additional salary credit for previous teaching experience, Master’s Degree and/or graduate course work.
