TITLE: ART TEACHER (VISUAL ARTS) Certified Position Full-time, 10-Month position Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Exceptional Education Department Location: Smith School–BOCES Campus DUTIES: Responsible for providing engaging and inquiry-based visual and ceramic arts instruction with an eye toward the implementation of the NYS Next Generation Standards for students in the K-12 Exceptional Education programs. Teacher will have freedom to prioritize content, design curricula, explore the arts in the community with students, and create an instructional space that meets the learning needs of our students. Responsible for compliance with Individualized Education Plans and progress monitoring and reporting in relation to student progress and portfolios. Must be a flexible, out of the box thinker who is dedicated to collaboration with colleagues in the program and with our partner agencies and districts to provide a learning environment that accesses the social emotional learning standards. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required.*This position requires the ability and desire to work with school aged students with learning, emotional and behavioral disabilities in an 8:1:1, 12:1+4, 8:1:3 and 12:1:1 BOCES settings. QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Certification in Art Education (Visual Arts K-12). START DATE: September 3, 2024 SALARY: $54,000 (2024-2025 full-time base salary), additional salary credit for relevant experience and/or education. Excellent benefits are available.
