School Counselor P-TECHCertified PositionFull-Time, 10-Month positionAffiliation: Teacher’s AssociationP-TECH AcademyLocation: TC3 CampusTST P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) is an innovative program that blends high school, college, and workplace learning through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach with a focus on technology and STEAM. Students will have up to six years to receive both a high school diploma and a free associate’s degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), along with real-world experience and essential soft skills. We are a close-knit, forward-thinking team committed to reimagining education for the 21st century. By collaborating with TC3, business partners, and one another, we design meaningful and relevant learning experiences that empower all students to take ownership of their education and prepare for the future.DUTIES:• Must be a flexible collaborator with P-TECH leader, staff, and all other stakeholders to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative school culture.• Innovative thinker that will provide counseling services to 9th -14th year AAS and AS college degrees for • students in the P-TECH Program.• Evidence of strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as creative thinking and problem solving.• Serve as a liaison to students and families, ensuring commitment to the program and student success.• Develop and maintain a successful recruiting system for component districts.• Willingness to build relationships with all stakeholders in the P-TECH program.• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and an assets-based approach to supporting all students, especially students who have been historically marginalized.• Support student's individual pathway plan to graduate with an associate's degree and successful entry into a career.• Support efforts to ensure student success in areas of industry such as: business partnerships, internships, and apprenticeships.• Acts as a liaison for partnerships between post-secondary institution(s) and families.• Data reporting to our CNY liaison.• Work with higher education professors to integrate high school curriculum with college coursework for an associate’s degree.• Daily working knowledge of SchoolTool, Google Suite, master schedules, student scheduling, developing transcripts, lead person for 504’s, support IEP/504 meetings, working relationship with Special Education teacher.• Must have working knowledge or be willing to learn CollegeNow.o Meetings with academic advisors and students for the college.• Shared responsibilities in pathway exploration and mentorship program.• Would prefer someone who has training or knowledge in one or more of the following areas like: TIC, TCI, Restorative Practices.• Willingness to work and build relationships with all of our home district counselors (middle and high school) and attend school counseling professional development.• Develop a communication plan that will keep our component districts information current about students.• Perform additional related duties as assigned.(There will be an expectation of working 20 days over the summer, with additional compensation.)QUALIFICATIONS:• New York State School Counselor Certification is required.•At least two years of previous school counseling experience is required, preferably with High School students.START DATE: September 2, 2025SALARY RANGE: $56,500 (2025-26 Base Salary), plus additional salary credit for graduate credits, Master’s Degree and prior related experience.
