TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER, Steps ProgramCertified PositionAffiliation: Teachers’ AssociationFull Time, 10-monthLocation: BOCES Smith SchoolExceptional Education DepartmentDUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching included but not limited to the development, implementation, and modification of Next Generation Learning Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc. Ability to differentiate instruction is a necessity as students work towards the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential. Serve as collegial team member on a large dynamic team supporting students. Provide instruction to students with intellectual, physical, communication (nonverbal), and multiple disabilities. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required. Previous experience with this population is preferred.Setting is in a 12:1:4 BOCES program.QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities Grades 7-12, OR Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12 OR dual certification.START DATE: September 5, 2023SALARY: $52,000.00 (2023-2024 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
