TITLE: CAREER EXPLORATION TEACHER Certified Position Full-time, 10-Month Position Affiliation: Teacher’s Association Career and Technical Education Department Location: C & T Center, Powell Building We are seeking a career focused teacher who is responsible for maintaining a high degree of enthusiasm for providing students with opportunities to engage in activities that prepare them for their next step post high school career. This position will serve all of the programs in the career and technical education center. Career center teacher, coordination and oversight, face of the career center Soft Skills training and curriculum development for all of CTE Business and Industry connection Work Based Development consistency Internship oversight and collaboration Maintains a high degree of consistency for employability skills across CTE, WOW and NV programs. Responsible for the Career Explorations program with the help of a teacher assistant oversight and focus Work in a team with the counselors, job developer, dean of students to provide services to all students in a consistent manner Work with closely classroom instructors on professional skills lessons Assistance with PR and branding Collaboration with the counselors, administration and job developer Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess an existing, valid, base NYSED CTE Teaching Certification.Completion of NYS Registered Program AND Institutional Recommendation – Coordinator of Work-Based Learning Programs for Career Development Extension. Work experience outside of classroom teaching – 600 clock hours. Must obtain Fingerprint clearance. (Possesses or is eligible for (and will pursue) WBL certification) START DATE: September 1, 2022, or as soon as possible. SALARY: $50,000.00 (2022-2023 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experieance, Masters Degree and Grad Credits. Excellent benefits are available.
