TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER, ELA Certified Position Full Time, 10-month position Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Exceptional Education Department Location: BOCES Smith SchoolDUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development and implementation of Next Generation Learning Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc. Serve as collegial team member in a dynamic 9-12 (8:1:1) special educational setting. Provide ELA instruction to high school students through a trauma informed lens; serving students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Provide excellent data collection and progress monitoring information in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Previous experience with students with emotional/behavioral disabilities preferred. Perform other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Must be New York State Certified Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist OR hold Permanent NYS Special Education Certification K-12 AND be deemed HQ using the HOUSSE rubric in any or some combination of ELA OR Statement of Continued Eligibility (or limited extension) in ELA OR NYS Certified Student with Disabilities 7-12 with dual certification 7-12 in ELA.SALARY: $50,000.00 (2022-2023 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
