This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, following TLC's school calendar, which runs 12 months out of the year. 1723 8th Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11215 Requirements: NYS Teacher Assistant Certification (Level I, II) 2 years experience working in a preschool with children with special needs preferred. Responsibilities: Work cooperatively with supervising Teacher and assist in all aspects of classroom management. Provide behavioral support for students as assigned. Assist in creating and maintaining a positive educational atmosphere, including the health, medical, and safety concerns of the students. Interact with students in an age-appropriate manner, maintaining their right for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times Demonstrate initiative and maintain an effective level of interaction with students during transition, upon completion of structured activities. Interact politely and appropriately with parents, caregivers, or other visitors to TLC and directs them to the appropriate party. Participate in program planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
