Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. Tiegerman is a 12 month program.Tiegerman Middle School is looking for a dedicated and experienced Guidance Counselor to join our team!Responsibilities:Views all IEP’s and goalsProvides guidance to studentsAttends meetings with the IEP/Curriculum CoordinatorTracks graduation requirements, modification levels, credits, college applications, letter of recommendations, and scholarshipsMaintains an accurate and up-to-date permanent record folderConsults with classroom teachers, school principals, visiting teachers, school nurses, psychologists, and parents relative to students and their issuesWorks closely with classroom teachers in planning and implementing group guidance sessions based on developmental needs of all studentsArranges case conferences involving classroom teachers, school nurse, psychologist, parents, principal, and community agenciesActs as the liaison between school and community agencies in working on student issuesCoordinates the efforts of all specialists working on a caseContinuously evaluates:The nature and scope of the guidance services as outlined aboveThe functioning of guidance as an integral part of the total educational programThe effectiveness of guidance servicesEEO & AA employer Apply on OLAS
