The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural education and a passion for preparing students for careers in the agriculture industry.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agronomy, Animal Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Agriculture Education or Career and Technical Education (CTE).Experience teaching agricultural courses at the middle school and/or high school level.Knowledge of agricultural technology, equipment, and industry trends.Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Responsibilities:Develop and implement an engaging CTE agriculture curriculum that aligns with state standards and industry requirements for middle school and high school students.Teach a range of agricultural topics, such as plant science, animal science, agricultural mechanics, agribusiness, and sustainable agriculture, using hands-on, experiential learning methods.Manage school greenhouse to provide students with practical learning opportunities and real-world experiences.Supervise student-run agricultural projects, clubs, and FFA (Future Farmers of America) activities to enhance students' leadership, teamwork, and agricultural skills.Collaborate with industry partners, local farmers, and agricultural organizations to provide guest speakers, field trips, and internship opportunities for students.Assess student learning through performance-based assessments, projects, presentations, and industry certifications, providing feedback and support for student growth.Mentor and advise students interested in pursuing careers in agriculture, guiding them through career exploration, job shadowing, and college or apprenticeship pathways.Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior and attendanceStrong classroom management skillsCommunicate regularly with parents and guardians
