Talk with students to identify problems. Motivate those with problems to seek professional assistance or community services. Participate in group discussions with students, evaluate problems/concerns, prepare reports. Share observations with professional counseling staff. Help students seek professional assistance or community services as needed. Be a liaison between students and their family. Gather and relay information with all parties. Participate in staff meetings to discuss student problems and remedial plans, provide oral and written reports concerning observations. Encourage acceptable behavior and attitudes with students. Visit students’ home or work to offer practical advice on resolving issues. Refer families to community agencies for services. Maintain contact with community agencies to obtain information on all services available.
