Vacancies exist for Secondary Special Education (Content) Teachers.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate will be a dual certified Special Education Teacher who can teach content areas in Special Class, Integrated Co-Teaching and Resource Rooms.Responsible for being a primary teacher for multiple students with IEPs.Will work collaboratively with other staff members to meet the needs of the students.Will write IEPs that support a student's progress and identify their needs within our schools.Will attend department, faculty and professional development meetings throughout the year.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State certification in Students with Disabilities 7-12 or K-12 and a content specific certification.Experience with the preparation and monitoring of IEP goals.Knowledge of behavior management strategies.Experience working with students with disabilities.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with educational testing.3+ years teaching experience preferred.Experience teaching various content areas.Knowledge of Google Classroom.Wilson Reading Certified preferred.Bilingual communication skills.TITLE: Special Education TeacherSALARY: As per STA ContractLOCATION: Secondary BuildingsEFFECTIVE: 9/1/2022APPLY BY: 6/28/2022Applications for the above positions are to be made by submitting a cover letter including the posting number, two professional references and a resume on OLAS addressed to Neil D.
