Schroon Lake Central School District Job Posting: School CounselorSchroon Lake Central School is seeking a qualified and dedicated School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide academic, career, and social-emotional support services to students while collaborating with faculty, administration, and families to foster student success.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Guide students and families through New York State graduation requirements.Assist with course selection, scheduling, and student academic planning.Develop and manage aspects of the district’s master schedule.Maintain accurate student records, including academic progress and counseling notes, in SchoolTool and other systems.Prepare and submit reports as required by the school and state education departments.Support student interventions, referrals, and educational planning as part of a collaborative team.Provide short-term social-emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.Qualifications:New York State Certification as a School Counselor.Demonstrated working knowledge of New York State graduation requirements.Experience with master schedule development preferred.Proficiency with SchoolTool or similar student information systems.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in record keeping and reporting.Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the broader school community.Salary: Commensurate with experience and in accordance with the Schroon Lake Teachers' Association contract.Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: Schroon Lake Central School District is an equal opportunity employer.
