Schroon Lake Central School seeks an outstanding educator to serve as the Principal for our pre-K to grade 12 building. The successful candidate will hold NYS building level administrative certification. This is a full time twelve month tenure track position with a regionally competitive salary and benefits package.Duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:Support the population of 250 students, 32 teachers, and 30 support staff membersOversee the daily operations of the buildingCommunicate regularly and effectively with parents, students, faculty, and staffPerform observations and evaluate members of the faculty and staffEnsure the compliance of the district with relevant state mandatesWork with faculty and staff to manage student behaviorOversee the district curriculum offeringsOversee the district RTI process and work collaboratively with the RTI committeeCoordinate professional development offerings for the districtWork collaboratively with BOCES consultant to ensure compliance with district data requirementsAssist the Superintendent with district initiatives Schroon Lake Central is a small school in the Adirondacks. SLCS serves a very supportive community and functions as the social center of the area.Schroon Lake is a 1.5 hour drive north of Albany, one hour south of Plattsburgh, and 45 minutes from Lake Placid or Glens Falls. The small village sits on the shores of Schroon Lake. Schroon Lake is surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains and is a paradise for skiers, boater, hikers and bikers.
