THIS POSITION HAS A $3,000 SIGN ON BONUSThe Special Education Teacher assumes primary responsibility for the day to day classroom behavioral management and academic program for his/her students. Implement original Individualized Education Program (IEP) and prepare subsequent IEPs and Progress Reports with input from the classroom staff and clinical staff as needed for Requested Reviews and Annual Reviews. Develop instructional material and activities addressing monthly themes and implement then in a developmentally appropriate manner.Education & ExperienceBA/BS Degree, MA/MS Degree in one of the following Special Education/Preschool Certifications is required:New York State Certification - Children with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Initial or Professional Certificate New York State Certification – Special Education Teacher Permanent CertificateNew York State Certification – Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) Initial or Professional Certificate. Must be on a study plan to obtain New York State Certification in Special EducationBA/BS in Related Field – will be on a study plan to obtain New York State Teacher Certification Bilingual (English/Spanish) PreferredExperience with children with autism, severely language impaired and behavior management issues.
