The Speech-Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits. Duties & Responsibilities:Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development.Maintain and review daily records or student progressSubmit progress updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students' strengths and deficits and prepare written annual evaluation reports.Provide consultation to classroom staff in the area of speech and language. Refer children for additional audiological consultations and medical evaluations when necessary.Participate actively as a member of the school's interdisciplinary therapeutic team, attend regularly scheduled staff and team meetings.Education & ExperienceMaster in Speech PathologyNew York State Speech Pathology LicenseNew York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or New York State Certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech-Language Disabilities One-year experience with language impaired children
