Southern Cayuga Central Schools is seeking a dedicated and motivated Physical Education teacher to teach at Emily Howland Elementary. This position would be one of two Elementary PE teachers. This individual would be primarily responsible for planning and delivering age and skill appropriate lessons for UPK-2 students. This teacher would also assist with teaching 3-6 students, in cooperation with the other PE teacher.Elementary PE lessons at Southern Cayuga are aligned to the NYS Physical Education standards, available at https://www.nysed.gov/standards-instruction/physical-education. They incorporate the whole child, ensuring students are able to work on various gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sport specific skills, social-emotional skills, and interpersonal skills.The selected candidate should have excellent communication and collaboration skills. They should also be well versed in differentiating Physical Education lessons for students of differing ability levels.A review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
