Southern Cayuga is seeking a long term substitute ELA teacher for grades 9 and 10. The position will begin in or around February and last for at least 6 weeks. The start and end dates are tentative. The overarching focus of the 9th and 10th grade ELA curriculum is on building students’ language arts skills as they develop knowledge about the world.Units will focus on building students world knowledge and strengthening writing skills. Grade 9 units taught during this time will include The Secret Life of Bees and the beginning of writing an argument essay. Grade 10 units taught during this time will include the end of The Hobbit, Night, and the beginning of writing an argument essay.
