Position Title: Part-Time Compliance Consultant – Special Education Programs Reports To: Executive Leadership / Director of Special Education DepartmentCompliance & Quality AssurancePosition SummaryThe Part-Time Compliance Consultant will provide specialized oversight and support to ensure Red Door Learning Company’s special education programs (including 4410 preschools, CPSE, SEIT, and related services) remain in full compliance with federal, state, county, and local regulations, with particular emphasis on Nassau County and Suffolk County 4410 program requirements. This role will focus on reviewing, monitoring, and advising on documentation, service delivery, and internal procedures. The consultant will also provide recommendations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to New York State Education Department (NYSED) standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance OversightMonitor compliance with NYSED 4410 regulations, Nassau County and Suffolk County preschool special education program requirements, IDEA mandates, and CPSE/SEIT guidelines.Review IEP/IFSP documentation and ensure related services are delivered as mandated.Audit provider case notes, billing records, and session logs for accuracy and regulatory compliance.Identify risks or gaps in compliance and recommend corrective actions specific to county and state requirements.Advisory & SupportServe as an advisor to leadership on compliance-related matters affecting Nassau and Suffolk counties.Provide recommendations for updates to policies, procedures, and record-keeping systems to align with county and state mandates.Support preparation for audits, county reviews, and NYSED monitoring visits.Guide staff on best practices to maintain compliance in their day-to-day work.Training & CommunicationProvide periodic training sessions for staff and leadership on compliance topics, including Nassau and Suffolk County 4410-specific requirements.Serve as a resource for staff questions regarding county and state compliance expectations.Ensure clear communication between leadership, related service providers, and compliance staff.QualificationsMaster’s degree in special education, Educational Administration, or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience working in special education, with a strong background in compliance, program administration, or regulatory oversight.Familiarity with NYSED Part 200 regulations, Nassau County and Suffolk County 4410 program standards, and CPSE/SEIT processes required.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently, provide clear recommendations, and support leadership teams.Consulting, auditing, or program monitoring experience preferred.Work Schedule & CompensationPart-time, consulting-based role.10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.Remote and on-site work as needed for program audits and reviews.Compensation: $50–$80 per hour, commensurate with experience.Nassau and Suffolk County.
