The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a caring, collaborative, and student-centered Short-Term Substitute School Counselor to join the team at RCS High School. This temporary position will provide coverage from approximately October 2026 through January 2027 and will play an important role in ensuring continuity of counseling services and support for our high school students. Key Responsibilities Monitor student academic progress and assist students with course planning and progress toward graduation requirements. Support college, career, and postsecondary planning activities. Assist students with goal setting, decision-making, transitions, and planning for life after high school. Respond to student concerns and assist with crisis intervention and student wellness needs. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, social workers, and other support staff to address student needs. Communicate and collaborate with parents and guardians as appropriate. Participate in student support team meetings, 504 meetings, CSE meetings, and other meetings as needed. Maintain appropriate student records and documentation in accordance with district procedures and applicable requirements. Ensure continuity of established counseling programs, services, and supports throughout the temporary assignment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid New York State certification as a School Counselor required. Experience working with high school students preferred. Knowledge of high school academic programming, graduation requirements, and college and career planning preferred.
