RCS is looking for a dynamic 7-12 science teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning, creative and engaging in the classroom, and dedicated to helping all students succeed. Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value in the school community, and have vision in preparing our students to be civic-minded. Successful candidates should be able to teach general science in a laboratory setting. Candidate will be expected to:- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly classroom environment- Prepare and instruct experiments that provide students with hands-on laboratory experiences- Teach general science electives such as Forensic Science and Environmental Science- Engage students in the learning process and excite them about college and career possibilities- Provide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (ie. RtI, PBIS)- Communicate with families, other school staff, school administration, and students on student progress.Create pathways for students to be career and community aware; promoting a strong sense of civic mindedness, Utilize Google classroom. QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification – Biology (w/ Chemistry preferred).
