The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the instructional programming for the school district. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction originates and leads curriculum development and establishes objectives that will provide support to all students that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards. In collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction will provide instructional leadership in an employee-oriented, high performing culture empowering self-development and growth.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Assumes responsibility for the development and maintenance of the instructional program (UPK-12)Provides general direction and control of instructional personnel and general administrative functions at the district level.Develops and implements grants related to instructional programs.Designs and develops the long-range curriculum, and professional development plans.Coordinates all formal efforts of the instructional staff in projects of curriculum development.Works with principals, directors, and teachers to insure consistency and articulation of the instructional program throughout the district.Collaborates with Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and with other districts in the development and implementation of shared services related to the instructional program.Serves as the district liaison with the BOCES Regional Instructional CouncilOversees the selection of textbooks, for the district through use of faculty committees and in accordance with Board policy.Keeps informed of, and interpret the laws, statutes, programs, philosophy, and policies of the district to staff, students, and community at large as they relate to the instructional program.Responsible for professional growth of district's instructional staff, as a catalyst, coordinator and modelCoordinates the development and implementation of a district wide orientation program for new instructional staff members.Completes research projects, including salary and fringe benefit research and studies of staff characteristics, class size, student enrollment, staffing ratios.Responsible for the funding of special programs involving private, state and federal funds, including the exploration of alternate means of funding special programs.Directs the planning and introduction of experimental programs, techniques, and materials for the purpose of enhancing the instructional program.Evaluates proposals for new instructional components to be incorporated in the budget.Assumes responsibility for district wide research and assessment and for analyzing the effectiveness of the total educational program through student assessment data.Responsible for all formal staff development activities at the building and district levelPlans, directs and coordinates the staff recruitment program (teachers, administrators/supervisors, and instructional aides)Monitor and coordinate the district student data system.Develops and oversees a program for screening and selecting student teachers and administrative interns.Supervises staff development personnel, including instructional coaches (if any)Acts as liaison between the district and community organizations in matters concerning the instructional program.Serves in a supportive role to the chief negotiator in negotiations with bargaining units and participates in negotiation sessions as assigned.Assists in the development and review of district policies, regulations, and procedures.Assists with Principal and Teacher APPR observations and evaluations.Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent of Schools Preferred Qualifications:Current New York State Certification as School District Leader or School District AdministratorEvidence of successful experience in teaching or a related fieldEvidence of successful administrative experienceComprehensive curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development experienceExperience in personnel recruitment, selection, and evaluationExpertise in strategic planning, decision-making and team leadershipDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.The Red Creek School District is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or application for employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age, religion or creed, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military status, genetic status, marital status, domestic violence status, criminal arrest or conviction record, or any other basis prohibited by state or federal nondiscrimination laws.Interested applicants please apply to:Matthew S.
