Job Summary:Elementary teacher is responsible for the safety and well being of children while fostering an enriching learning environment. Appointment:Appointment will be made by the Superintendent of Schools. Tenure track position- appointed teacher will accrue time toward tenure and seniority. Evaluation:Per the RCTA contract the teacher will be evaluated using the Danielson Framework for Teaching according to the district-approved APPR agreement. Requirements:NYS Fingerprint ClearanceNYS Certification in elementary education Qualifications: Experience or willingness to learn strategies that support creating a learning environment that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Communication skills, including the ability to proactively collaborate with students and staff Knowledge of instructional methods and strategies Understanding of student growth and development Familiarity with all NYS elementary learning standards Ability to develop, teach and assess student learning Willingness to accept feedback and adapt based on feedback Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment that is safe and conducive to student learning Develop, and implement learning experiences that engage students aligned to NYS learning state standards Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships Effectively communicate lesson goals and objectives to students Work collaboratively with peers to plan student learning experiences Work collaboratively with peers to establish grade level criteria of expected outcomes Manage media resources Create and incorporate STEM opportunities for students Adapt instructional methods based on student needs as determined by data analysis Observe and evaluate students performance, behavior, social development, and physical health Use a variety of data points to plan, and guide instruction Participate in committee work to improve school systems and structures Communicate in a clear and concise manner with families, students, peers, staff and administrators Direct instructional staff such as teaching assistants and aides, volunteers and student workers for the purpose of providing effective instructional programming Monitor students in a variety of environments Prepare a variety of materials that document student progress Demonstrate and take responsibility for promoting high standards of achievement Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
