The School Psychologist will play a critical role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of students. This position requires a professional who is passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student success through collaboration with students, families, staff, and the broader community.Key Responsibilities:Administer Psychological Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate student needs, including cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.Individual and Group Counseling Services: Provide therapeutic support to students through both individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on emotional and behavioral regulation, conflict resolution, and social skills development.Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA): Conduct FBAs to identify the root causes of student behaviors and collaborate with staff to implement evidence-based interventions.Chair CSE and 504 Meetings: Lead the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and 504 meetings to develop and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 accommodation plans.Behavior Plan Development & Oversight: Create and monitor behavior intervention plans tailored to student needs, ensuring effective implementation in collaboration with teachers and support staff.Crisis Intervention: Lead the school's Crisis Intervention Team, providing immediate support during emergencies and developing protocols for long-term prevention and intervention.Family Outreach: Engage and support families by fostering strong school-home relationships, providing guidance, and connecting them to community resources as needed.Staff Development: Deliver professional development workshops to teachers and staff on relevant topics such as behavioral management strategies, mental health, and trauma-informed care.Teacher and Teaching Assistant Support: Provide consultation to classroom teachers and teaching assistants, offering strategies to address students' academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges.Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Develop, implement, and lead school-wide SEL initiatives, promoting positive school culture and student well-being.Parent Universities: Organize and facilitate workshops for parents and guardians on current topics such as anxiety, internet safety, and fostering resilience in children.Qualifications:Valid certification/license as a School Psychologist in the state of [Insert State].Experience working with students in an elementary setting (PK-6) preferred.Strong knowledge of psychological evaluation tools, behavior intervention strategies, and counseling techniques.Familiarity with IEP, 504, FBA, and crisis intervention protocols.Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.Commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school environment.Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Professional development opportunities.Supportive and collaborative work environment.
