Anticipated VacancyBus MonitorThe Putnam Valley Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a school bus monitor.Duties include maintaining order and decorum on the school bus by managing the conduct of the student passengers. Assisting student passengers to climb aboard, enter, leave, and climb down from the bus. Seat and place student passengers as necessary. May operate lift and secure restraint devices and wheelchair locks to load and unload student passengers with disabilities. Assist bus or van drivers in the event of emergencies. Work is performed under general supervision of school administrators. Performs related work as required.Good powers of observation; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; and working knowledge of first aid methods helpful. Must be able to pass the Physical Performance Test (PPT). A high school diploma is desirable. Experience working with students with disabilities is also desirable.
