Title: ANTICIPATED OPENING 2024-2025 (English Language Arts Teacher – Full Time-Probationary)The Plainview-Old Bethpage CSD English Department is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students while fostering a positive and culturally responsive learning environment. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards that cater to diverse learning styles- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and cultural awareness- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and to share best practices- Utilize high leverage instructional strategies to support a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing- Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleaguesKey Qualifications: - Motivated and passionate about teaching English Language Arts- Strong background in literature and the writing process- Collaborative mindset, eager to work in a team-oriented environment- Culturally responsive approach to teaching including valuing and incorporating diverse backgrounds- Strong grasp of using technology to enhance teaching and learning, including the use of Artificial Intelligence- Candidates with experience teaching Advanced Placement courses are preferred but not required- ENL/ICT certified candidates are considered a plus- Strong organizational and communication skillsLocation: POBJFK High SchoolCertification: Must have a current and active NYS Department of Education Certificate in English Language Arts 7-12Salary: As per contract Deadline: Tuesday, April 23, 2024
