PNW BOCES is seeking an experienced, dynamic, energetic, and thoughtful leader who will be responsible for overseeing CTE Career Academies and buildings, and ensuring that they are safe and welcoming, with high expectations of all, and rigorous and engaging instruction for every student. The Executive Principal is responsible for the following duties under the supervision of the Director of CTE: Leadership and Administration Responsible for oversight of the daily operations of CTE across multiple Career Academies and buildings Supervises two career academy principals, adult and continuing education coordinator, and more than 100 instructional and support staff Assumes responsibility in absence of Director of CTE Serves as the chief liaison between CTE and all participating high schools. Demonstrates and models high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance and personal integrity Supports principals, teachers, and staff in understanding and implementing PNW BOCES and CTE goals and initiatives Makes timely and decisive decisions based on prioritizing the needs of the PNW BOCES CTE community Coordinates multiple student ceremonies and events Collaborates with internal departments (HR, O&M, IT, RSS, and PL) to ensure the physical, social emotional, and professional needs of the staff are met Follows all applicable law, regulations, and policies Culture and Climate Cultivates and promotes a safe, welcoming, and positive culture Address behavioral issues and promotes positive behavior through proactive initiatives, in alignment with the PNW BOCES Code of Conduct Participate in PNW BOCES Administrative Council Instruction, Curriculum, Professional Learning, and Supervision Serves as the lead advisor for SKILLS USA Oversees the implementation, integration, and development of curriculum to meet the evolving NYS and CTE standards, and promote growth and achievement for all students, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners Produces the master schedule in accordance with the teaching assignments determined by the Director Use data to monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions about programs and instructional strategies Coordinate and supervise the recruitment, interview, and hiring process for instructional and support staff Assists in organizing and scheduling teacher workshops and student assemblies Evaluates the performance of instructional staff and Career Academy Principals. Family and Community Engagement Builds a positive and strong relationships with families, students, component school districts, and community partners Assist in developing and implementing positive public relations for PNW BOCES CTE programs Represent PNW BOCES CTE at BOE and community events, including in the evenings and on weekends as needed Perform all other duties as required and assigned by the Director of CTE and/or the District Superintendent and their designee(s) QUALIFICATIONS: New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification required Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred Experience in CTE and/or building leadership preferred Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate staff preferred Knowledge of NYS Educational Law, DASA, and Perkins preferred CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED: Unwavering commitment to the PNW BOCES Core Value of Pathways to Success for Every Student Effective communicator who values, and can build and nurture, positive relationships with various constituent groups including staff, families, and students Transparent and consistent decision-maker who follows through to ensure that decisions are properly implemented A leader who utilizes a collaborative approach to decision-making, holding true to what is best for students Excellent organizational and time management skills
