Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Leave Replacement Special Education Teacher to provide instruction to intermediate school students in our Pines Bridge School. Duties will also include developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring and assessing student progress, differentiating instruction per student needs and working in a collaborative team setting. The successful candidate will also maintain regular contact with local school district representatives and parents, perform educational assessments as requested and utilize data to inform instruction. QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate New York State Education Department certification in Special Education K-12 or Students with Disabilities. CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED: Experience working with students with multiple disabilities. Familiar with NYSAA and other assessment for students with Severe/Multiple Disabilities. Ability to supervise classroom team. Experience working collaboratively with therapists and clinicians. Knowledge of the annual review process. Candidates must be highly organized, flexible, and have effective communication, written and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
