Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a full-time vacancy for an Assistant Director of Information Technology to assist the Director of Information Technology with the supervision/evaluation of department staff, management of day-to-day IT operations/infrastructure/general IT services, cyber security defenses, project management, state reporting, strategic planning, goal-setting, budgeting, implementation of industry best practices, etc.Duties include, but are not limited to:Direct supervision of day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, and cyber security defenses.Providing implementation/planning/project leadership, subject matter expertise, and expert-level support in the areas of: cloud infrastructure/services, organizational intelligence(data), IT applications, physical infrastructure, telephony, website development, cyber/data security and endpoint protection, etc.Managing operations/technical projects ensuring that they are of the highest quality, delivered on time, and within the budget parameters.Assisting in the establishment of organizational intelligence systems for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data in usable and meaningful ways.Interacting with the agency end-user community to understand/assess future needs and capitalize on opportunities to improve the delivery of IT services. Proposes/designs fiscally sound solutions that follow security best practices and SOPs. Preparing technical documentation and conduct training for technical/non-technical agency staff and the end-user community.Working with the website and web-application development teams to make updates and drive necessary software changes to custom applications; including systems architecture.Assisting with budget formulation/preparation, monitoring, and management of available funds.Performing other duties as assignedQualifications: Satisfactory completion of 60 college credits and six (6) years of experience where the primary function was the operation and maintenance of a computer system, including or supplemented by two (2) years of experience which must have included the evaluation, analyses, or planning of automated data processing systems.Experience in leading a technology team, including employee development/management.Proven experience in the leading of operations and technical implementation projects.Understanding of data analysis, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools.Working knowledge of a variety of computer hardware (including servers), software, infrastructure, virtualization, telephony, relational databases, cloud services, security, and web development.ITIL, Agile, Security, and/or PMP certification is preferred.
