Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year to provide instruction to middle school students, grades 7 & 8. Duties will include developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring and assessing student progress, differentiating instruction per student needs, and working in a collaborative team setting. The successful candidate will also maintain regular contact with local school district representatives and parents, perform educational assessments as requested, and utilize data to inform instruction.Qualifications: Must hold valid New York State certification in Special Education as well as 7-12 content area – Math and/or Science preferred.Characteristics Desired: Ability to supervise classroom team. Experience working collaboratively with therapists and clinicians. Knowledge of the annual review process. Candidates must be highly organized, flexible, and have effective communication, written, and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
