Duties: Exciting leadership opportunity for an exceptional school administrator. The Supervisor of Special Education will serve students ages 5-21 with significant medical, developmental and/or speech/language challenges. The supervisor will work with a team of highly qualified student-centered special educators, Related Service providers, clinicians, paraprofessionals, and administrators.Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:Extensive knowledge of special education;Proven ability as a leader with knowledge of effective instructional practices for students with disabilities;Skill as an innovative planner, motivator and effective communicator who has a proven record of developing positive relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, students and parents;Expertise in staff supervision and evaluation with knowledge of the APPR process;A degree in special education or related field as well as New York State administrative certification (SAS, SDA, SBL, SDL)Characteristics Desired: Previous experience as an administrator of programs for students with disabilities desired. Candidate must be highly organized and have effective communication skills. Additionally, must also have a commitment to the PNW BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.
