Middle School Assistant Principal Vacancy - 2026-2027 School Year It is anticipated that the following position will be available for the 2026-2027 school year. Middle School Assistant Principal Requirements: Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certification. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level. Demonstrated strong instructional background with proven ability to provide instructional leadership and support to teachers across all content areas. Must be knowledgeable about best practices and able to provide support for English Language Learners (ELLs). Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and data-driven instructional improvement. Knowledgeable and experienced in developing and managing a comprehensive master schedule. Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all stakeholders. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers through coaching, professional development, and collaborative curriculum work to ensure rigorous, engaging, and student-centered learning. Support and ensure the implementation of effective instructional strategies and scaffolding for English Language Learners (ELLs) in all subject areas. Assist the Principal in the development, management, and evaluation of the school’s master schedule, ensuring optimal use of time and resources to support instructional goals. Collaborate with the Principal and instructional staff on the effective use of student assessment data to inform instructional practices and improve student outcomes. Assist in the supervision and evaluation of instructional and support staff. Support the implementation and consistency of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) programming, data collection, and services. Assist with the overall administration of the school, including student discipline, attendance, and school safety. Facilitate positive communication and engagement with students, staff, parents, and the community. Oversee and coordinate specific school programs or initiatives as assigned by the Principal. Assist with all aspects of state and local assessment preparation and administration. Other duties as assigned by the building principal or her designee.
