RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with colleagues and utilize various curriculum resources to create objective-based lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards.Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction.Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students.Utilize data to inform instructional decisions.Establish a supportive classroom environment that provides for the social-emotional learning of all students.Grade student work and maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.Effectively communicate with parents and students regarding academic progress.Attend required meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.Provide instruction that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.Design and implement lesson plans that emphasize transferable skills in written communication and reading comprehension, with a focus on analyzing historical texts, evaluating primary and secondary sources, and developing clear, evidence-based arguments in written form.Plan and deliver highly engaging lessons using a variety of instructional strategies and protocols, including collaborative group work, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction, to ensure student participation and support diverse learning needs in the context of social studies content.Design and implement data-driven, standards-based assessments that effectively measure student progress, identify areas for growth, and inform instructional decisions with the goal of students demonstrating mastery of key social studies concepts and skills.REPORTS TO: Building Principal(s), Academic Directors SALARY: In accordance with PMCT Contract EFFECTIVE: September 2025 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:All costs associated with these employment requirements are the responsibility of the employee:Fingerprint clearance from the NY State Department of Education (NYSED)Drug ScreeningPhysical Examination Patchogue-Medford Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
