School CounselorNewcomb Central School is a small K-12 district located in the heart of the Adirondack Park of northern New York State. Our location and small class sizes enable us to offer several unique programs.The Newcomb Central School District is accepting applications for a tenure-track School Counselor (grades K-12) beginning early to mid February 2026. Excellent benefits: health, vision, dental & NYS Retirement. Candidates must possess a valid NYS Certificate in School Counseling. Please send proof of this certificate, transcripts for highest level of education (unofficial is acceptable), a cover letter, resume, and 3 letters of recommendation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to studentsDevelop and implement school counseling curriculum aligned with district goalsSupport students with crisis intervention and conflict resolutionCollaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student successParticipate in school-wide initiatives to support a positive and inclusive school climateMaintain accurate student records and prepare necessary reportsIn addition to the duties and responsibilities associated with School Counseling at Newcomb, candidates would be expected to assume other roles such as Testing Coordinator, oversight of the district’s Mentor Program and numerous responsibilities associated with uploading the district’s data on a weekly basis to the Northeast Regional Informational Center (NERIC). These additional roles are unique to the role at Newcomb and training would be provided.
